Mnarani Primary and Secondary School Yellobric’s first pilot scheme was officially launched on the 14th of September 2011 at Mnarani primary school, which is in the village of Mnarani on the Kenyan coast. 20 Kindle Keyboards where used to supplement what was a very poor selection of badly damaged books. Yellobric trained 250 pupils (out of 1,600) and 28 staff how to use the eReaders. In addition Yellobric funded and set up a Wi-Fi network so that pupils could use the devices to browse the web, look up words in Wikipedia and use email and social networking sites through the devices. The programme has now been expanded to include the Secondary School next door in partnership with Mnarani aid.
